Welcome to my #btecpe website.  This website is aimed at helping you complete the BTEC First in Sport qualification.

You will need to study for the Unit 1 exam and I have been creating extensive video content on YouTube to help prepare you for the assessment.

I have also included information to help you complete written assignments for Units 2-6.  This resource will help direct you to the information required for these assignments.

Unit 2:  Practical Sport Performance

For Unit 2 you need to demonstrate your practical skills whilst also presenting evidence to support your understanding of several sports.

Unit 3:  The Mind and the Sports Performer

​

For Unit 3 you need to present information about how the performers mind can affect their sporting performances.

Unit 4:  The Sports Performer in Action

​

Unit 4 looks at what happens to the body when undertaking exercise.  What happens in the short term (a single training session) compared to the long term (3 months +). 


Knowledge of the following is essential

  1. Musculoskeletal System (Short/Long Term)

  2. Cardiorespiratory System (Short/Long Term)


The Energy systems used by the body to produce movement are also explored in this unit.

  1. Aerobic System

  2. Anaerobic Systems – ATP CP system & Glycolysis system

Unit 5:  Training for Personal Fitness

You will need to demonstrate your knowledge of how to develop a 6 week training programme.
